If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be, and why?
- If I could be any animal in the world, I would be a sea turtle. They are beautiful creatures who travel the ocean and yet come back to the same beach every 2 years to lay their eggs.
What pets do you currently have?
- I have 5 dogs and 1 cat. My dogs are all retired show dogs who now enjoy playing on the beach every day. My dog family consists of two Labrador Retrievers, Boogie and Candy, and three Norwich Terriers, Inka, Viola and Piper. I have 1 cat without eyes named Olive. She is simply amazing and you would never know that she is blind. Their antics on the beach make me laugh every day.
What do you find most rewarding about working with animals?
- I love all aspects of the veterinary field. I would say the most rewarding thing is connecting with the owners of our patients and helping to educate them so their pets live long and happy lives. I am most passionate about sea life conservation. I am very fortunate to live on an island that is a sea turtle sanctuary. I am very active in rehabilitating and releasing sea turtles within our community.
